I have been Volunteering my time to Crochet "Dog and Cat Blankets" for several local animal shelters for the past 2 years now.
I love the idea of helping the homeless animals stay a little bit warmer as they wait to be adopted. Last year, I Crocheted over 20 Small Warm Blankets and donated them to a local Cat Sanctuary close to where I live. I took my youngest Son with me so he could see how the animals live. They were very well cared for and loved. It gave me great joy, so I decided to continue to make more of these Crocheted Blankies for these little darlings. Here is the Cat Sanctuary website in case you are interested. http://www.purrrfectangels.org
This year I continue to make more Doggie blankets and am donating these to another Animal Rescue Shelter. This one is called "Noah and Friends Animal Sanctuary." Here is their website for you to view. http://www.noahandfriends.homestead.com/
So far I have donated 6 small Cat Blankets and have made 6 more medium size for dogs. I also made a few Dog or Cat Ball's for them to play with. These blankies and balls are made of 100% Acrylic yarn so they are very soft for the animals. It's been a joy making these for homeless animals. They need warmth as they wait for that special owner to come along.

If you like to Crochet, Knit or even sew or quilt and want to help out a wonderful cause, please email me. I will refer you to a special website where I've signed up to help volunteer. I can explain furthur about this special cause and how you can help your local animal shelters. It's truly a wonderful feeling to know that the animals will stay warm during a chilly night.
